YouTube Removes Games and Gadgets From Categories

I was scouting the video game section on YouTube to add videos to our NSider2 YouTube Channel when I returned to the main page and tried to get back to the Games and Gadgets category when I realized it had been removed, after spending a few minutes trying to figure out where YouTube had placed its video game category I realized that other categories were also missing, Technology category is now gone too! what’s going on YouTube?
Since then I have not read any article regarding this change, and if it is permanent, then this means that people searching for the top video game videos will need to go elsewhere to find them.
After this YouTube move, Revver, a competitive revenue sharing video submission website has started to look much more welcoming to video game fans with their own Video Game Category.

dang, mabie it was a mistake? id check back next week, those both were some of the most popular generes on youtube
This is seriously upsetting, and ruins the youtube experience for me. I used to check top rated game vids daily. Now where the hell are they? In the entertainment category? Not that I’ve seen. It’s all Oprah and movie crap. Come on youtube, get it together.Oh and it’s obviously not a mistake. All of the videos that used to be marked as Gaming category are now marked Entertainment, including the ones I submitted.
Tell me about it, I used to check it out every day, it was a great way to find the top video game videos, I’m really hopping they bring them back soon.
It’s called "Entertainment". All my videos that were once Gadgets and Games are now listed as Entertainment. Also, "videogames" is listed as a "tag suggestion" or whatever that new feature is. So it’s not like they’re trying to get rid of videogaming, you’ll probably see more in the Entertainment category.
So go to today’s top rated or today’s top viewed and tell me how much gaming you see on there…. I don’t want my stuff mixed in with theirs.
I understand the tag thing, but as far as I know there’s no way to view the top rated, viewed, favorited, etc for the tagging system.
However you want to put it, it’s a shame they are doing away with the games category, and entertainment? WTF is YouTube thinking? I don’t want my Mario Galaxy videos mixed up with Britney.
This sucks, now I can’t look at the top rated video game vids daily. Oh well, less Youtube for me I guess now.
Well, now I have something to complain about…
Seriously, YouTube needs to bring those categories back.
I did a bit more searching, there is a new ‘Science & Technology’ category, but it doesn’t show up on the search yet. There used to be a category specifically for ‘Video Games’, but it was removed earlier this year.
Makes no sense why a popular category shouldn’t have its own section on YouTube. My only guess as to why it was moved is probably because of bandwidth; likely the same reason the sub-forums were moved around here at NSider2. Saving up bandwidth is a good thing, too; hundreds of videos get posted on YouTube every day. Still, this conglomeration of Gadgets & Games with Entertainment doesn’t affect me. I rarely ever use the category function to look for my video games, anyway. I just key the name of the video game in the Search bar.
Why did they have to let it go?
EDIT: Sorry, but d/ced.
YouTube is owned by Google, Google is being mean and doesnt allow them to put games on YT….
Here’s a link to the Science and Tech one. Probably the best you are going to get, though the old game videos were all reclassified as entertainment…..
