WiiWare Details

From the Wii-k in Review Podcast at IGN.

Seems like WiiWare titles size limit is 40Mb, wich makes us wonder how SquareEnix is making a game like the new Final Fantasy.

Other than that, seems like the budget for most of the games is around $100,000. Now, expect a lot of indie developers getting their hands into the WiWare development kits.

Meh, I’ve never been overly interested in WiiWare titles, but I’m glad we are finally getting around to hearing the details.

  2. StarFoxA says:

  4. [...] Nintendo launched a quick response team to this week’s IGN podcast in which claimed that WiiWare titles would have a limit of 40MB, and that developers would set their own prices and be limited to releasing one game per month, which would make games like SquareEnix’s Final Fantasy nearly impossible to make as we had previously reported. 7. WiiRevolution1 says:

Actually you can only use 256mbs of the Wiis Memory (That equels around 2200 blocls)

The other 256mbs of memory is used for the channels that are built in (Disk,Mii,News,Forecast,Shop, and Photo Channels), Wiimails from friends, and firmware updates.

    So yea….
