One Year After Nintendo’s Wii Release

A year ago today, if you would’ve mentioned the Wii would outsell the PS3 people would’ve laughed at you, possibly even revoke your 1st amendment. Today the Nintendo Wii turns 1 year old! and success could not had been any sweeter for the cutely named console with the outside-the-box thinking controllers.
Today, the Wii is the top dog and scheduled to be one of the biggest of all time, remember, back then people were shot for a PS3 while waiting in line, not for the Wii, the roles have been reversed and people are doing anything for a Wii, which are now in high demand and short supply.
I remember when I was in a line, with many other enthusiastic gamers, counting down, anticipating the launch, patiently waiting for the console to be released so that I could spent my hard earned money (my grandmother’s gift) on the Nintendo Wii.
A year has made a galaxy worth of a difference (pun intended), look at what has happened in a little less than a year:
The Cons:
Super Smash Brawl was delayed, so was NiGHTS, I’m still wondering why Nintendo said some of these titles were launch games.
We still don’t have a Wii hard drive.
Third party developers are scarce and in short supply, this is becoming every Nintendo console trademark.
The Pros:
Nintendo is selling more Wiis than it can actually make, this goes to show how successful the Nintendo Wii has become.
Super Mario Galaxy was released just in time for the holidays, becoming the highest rated game of all time.
The Nintendo Wii is revolutionizing gaming around the globe, thanks to its innovative controllers.
The Aftermath:
A year ago today I over-flooded my diapers when I got my Wii, almost cried, ok… you got me, I did cried, I’ll admit it, but I’m still a man. I was just so happy, 9 hours in line and I got it, I was #32 in line at Target out of 33 Wii’s.
Happy Birthday Wii, you’ve had a great year, better than any other console ever. Mostly everyone (I’m looking at you PS3/Xbox fanboys) loves you, what are the odds? A year ago today, I wouldn’t have thought the Wii would do this well.
Take today to reminisce about the past year with your Wii and wish it a happy birthday, just don’t let anyone see you doing it, it’s embarrassing, trust me on that one.

Happy B-Day Wii!
I remember waiting in line for mine, for a full day I was the 3rd one in line, and I felt like a fool…. untill later that night when the line exceeded 260 people long! I never would have guessed that the Wii would have still been sold out today. If you told me a year ago that Wii would have sold as much as it did, I would have not beleived you.
I remember the Wii and PS3 craze. People did get put at gun point for the PS3, but it was a scandal. So many parents trying to get Wiis. It was a crazy time.
Haha, Wii owns.
Another great article by me, good day all in all.
It summarizes the whole enchilada: Wii is on a meteoric rise. Meteoric also includes a crash, so there could be consequences!
Could’ve said it any more better in this article!
So happy 1 year anniversery Wii!
I’ve always loved my Wii!
