Hulu Plus, 3D Video Recording, and a System Update for 3DS

Today Nintendo announced several new features heading to the 3DS, some of which were expected while others were surprises. First the surprise: Hulu Plus will be available for both Wii and 3DS, allowing you to watch all the TV shows and movies that Hulu Plus provides for $7.99.
Secondly, a system update in late November will bring the long awaited feature of 3D video recording, allowing players to capture up to 10 minutes of 3D video and create stop-motion animation videos. It’s not clear whether this means 10 minutes total or if each video can be up to 10 minutes, but it’s most likely the former. The system update will also bring new puzzles to the Mii Plaza and a new dungeon in Find Mii.
Nintendo also described several upcoming retail and downloadable 3DS games. New eShop games include: Freakyforms: Your Creations, Alive! which allows you to draw and design your own critter and let it explore a 3D landscape; PushMo, a puzzle game designed specifically for 3D; Dillon’s Rolling Western, a real time strategy game starring an armadillo; and finally Swapnote which allows players to send messages–whether written, drawn, or spoken–to friends via SpotPass and StreetPass. And finally, Nintendo confirmed that Mario Kart 7 will allow up to eight players online.
