I know there are people in this site who are great writers! Now is a chance to show of your skills in writing songs!

Every two weeks on Monday, I will post a video game song. Your challenge, is that you have to write a song that fits with it. Simple, right?

Wrong. The song MUST fit a criteria, or you will NOT win. Wanna know what is required for the song?

1) Lyrics

Obviously, we want you to sing. Though you do not need to sing throughout the entire song, we want a balance between singing, and instrumental. If you have too much instrumental, chance are you are not going to be judged well. On the flip side however, if you manage to write lyrics for the entire song you may get judged better.

2) Rhythm

The song should match with the beat of the song. If you are going to rap with a song... make sure the song has a rap sort of beat. If it was say... Twilight Princess theme song, you should NOT sing to Soulja Boy's beat. Really... Zelda and rap?

3) Organization

Walls of text are not really the best thing... unless you are an RPer. Here is what the song structure should look like.

4) Topic!

This is a big one! Songs, must always have a theme! Why is this important? Well, let us say you were asked to do Mute City from F-Zero... what would make more sense to sing about? Racing, or eating food? Keep the song close to the genre of the game, and by extension usage of the song. For example, say you were given the Black Knight's theme from Fire Emblem. You wouldn't make it about strategy, or fighting just any old solider. You would make it about the Black Knight!

Does this all make sense?

That's right! It's 'His Highness' Theme' from Mother 3! This song plays at most parts of the game when the Pig Mask Army are entering the area, and if I recall... the battles against Pig Mask Grunts.
