Well, I finally got all of the stickers (and trophies, *sniffle*), so I wrote a very basic guide to stickers, including the list of all of the stickers. Feel free to contribute.

First off, I’ll list the types of stickers.

[Arm] Attack
As long as you physically make contact with any part of your arms (such as shoulder or fist), it counts as damage in this category. Good examples are Mario’s forward attack in the air, Captain Falcon’s forward smash, and Donkey Kong’s neutral Special.

[Leg] Attack
If you hit with your knee or foot, it is Leg damage. Good examples are Fox’s forward attack in the air, Luigi’s down smash, and Captain Falcon’s down Special.

[Weapon] Attack
Some characters have built-in weapons. Damage caused by these weapons count here. Good examples are Ike’s sword, Dedede’s hammer, and Wolf’s blaster (note: the Blaster has to make contact, not the blast).

[Head] Attack
Headbutts and the like fall into this category. Good examples are Donkey Kong’s up attack in the air, Wario’s up smash, and Luigi’s forward special.

[Body], [Spin] Attack
If the character twirls, it’s probably in this type of damage. Good examples are Sonic’s forward smash in the air, R.O.B.s down smash, and Luigi’s down special.

[Throwing] Attack
This refers to the strength and how far you throw around enemies. Applies to everyone (when they grab, of course).

[Tail] Attack
Got a tail? Use it! This group of attacks are based off damage inflicted by a tail. Good examples are Fox’s back attack in the air, Pikachu’s down smash, and Yoshi’s back attack in the air.

[Arm], [Leg] Attack
A combination of both the [Arm] and [Leg] types of stickers.

[Magic] Attack - Peach and Zelda only
Shiny attacks by the above two characters are most likely Magical attacks. Most of Zelda’s attacks have magical properties, and Peach’s forward special has magic damage too.

[PK] Attack - Mother/EarthBound Characters only
If they yell “PK!” it’s a PK attack. All of Ness and Lucas’ specials are PK moves (their down specials might not count though).

[Bite] Attack - Yoshi, Wario, Pokemon Trainer, and Wolf only
A little unorthodox, but it is an attack form nonetheless. Good examples are damage Yoshi inflicts while grabbing a foe (and attacking while holding them) and Wario’s neutral special.

[Energy] Attack
Glowing attacks, usually produced by guns or blasters, are energy attacks. Good examples are Samus’, Fox’s and R.O.B.’s neutral specials.

[Explosive] Attack
Damage from bombs and missiles count here. Link and Toon Link’s bombs, as well as most of Snake’s smash attacks cause explosive damage.

[Slash] Attack
Damage caused by swords and knives is called Slash damage. Most attacks by Marth, Link, Toon Link, and Ike, as well as the first part of Kirby’s up special, counts in this category. Ivysaur’s forward special inflicts this type of damage too.

[Electric] Attack
Think Pikachu. Almost all of it’s attacks are electrical. Zero Suit Samus’ whip and reflector damage from Star Fox characters also count. Oh, so do Yellow Pikmin.

[Flame] Attack
Not the forum kind. These attacks cause blazing damage. Mario and Ike’s neutral special, as well as Red Pikmin cause this kind of damage.

[Aura] Attack - Lucario only
“The Aura is with me!” In fact, Lucario is the only character that the aura is with. If one of his attacks creates, what can best be described as, “magical blue flames”, it’s aura damage.

[Freezing] Attack
Very few characters cause this kind of damage. The Ice Climber’s down and neutral specials, and Lucas’ neutral special, cause this type of damage.

[Water] Attack - Pokemon Trainer only
Only Squirtle can cause Water damage. Both Mario down special and Squirtle’s neutral special may se water, but they don’t cause damage.

[Pikmin] Attack - Olimar only
Those little plant-animal things that follow around Olimar (aka MarLio), increase their strength with these stickers. This doesn’t mean that they still can’t be easily killed however.

[Grass] Attack - Pokemon Trainer only
Again, only one character causes this type of damage. In this case it’s Ivysaur. If it hits with vines, seeds, or leaves, it will cause Grass damage.

[Darkness] Attack - Ganondorf only
Of course, the King of Evil gets his own type of damage. If it looks like you just roasted something with black (or purple) flames from Hell, it was darkness damage.

[Specials: Direct] Attack
If a character’s Special makes direct contact with the foe, it counts here. Good examples are Diddy Kong’s forward special, Mr. Game & Watch’s up special, and Bowser’s down special.

[Specials: Indirect] Attack
If a character’s Special make indirect contact with the foe, it counts in this category. Samus and Snake’s Missles, and lasers from characters such as R.O.B. inflict indirect damage.

[Battering] Resistance
This type of sticker decreases the enemy’s ability to smack you around. Note, this isn’t the same as flinching or launching damage.

[Slash] Resistance
Your defense against enemies with blades will increase when equipped with these stickers. Only a few enemies, like Armights and Shaydas’, cause this damage though, so you might not even use these much. These stickers also apply to damage inflicted by Duon’s blue side though.

[Flame] Resistance
Enemies like Fire Primids and Glires cause this kind of damage. Once again, you probably won’t use these that much.

[Electric] Resistance
Spaaks and Jyks and other electrically charged foes cause damage from this category.

Launch Power
These are very useful stickers, because they increase your ability to send foes flying.

Launch Resistance
These stickers are helpful too, because they decrease your foe’s ability to send you flying.

Flinch Resistance
Very light attacks cause this type of damage, and will basically just cause your character to flinch or squirm for a second or two.

Trophy Drops
This increases the rate in which foes drop trophies when defeated. Changing the difficulty also increases this rate.

Sticker Drops
This increases the rate in which foes drop stickers when defeated. Changing the difficulty also increases this rate.

Trophy Stand Drops
Possibly the most useful type of stickers for those going after enemy and boss trophies. This increases the rate in which foes drop trophy stands when defeated. Changing the difficulty also increases this rate.

Shield Resistance
This type of sticker increases the amount of damage your shield can take.

Dizzy Time
If your shield breaks, your character begins acting like the just got hit in the head with a 5-Ton hammer. These stickers decrease the amount of time that they do that.

Shield Recovery
This type of sticker increases the rate in which your shield regenerates.

Food Effect
When you eat food with these kind of stickers applied, you heal much more than usual.

Maxim Tomato Effect
This increases the effectiveness of the Maxim Tomato item. Only Kirby characters can use this sticker.

Heart Container Effect
This increases the effectiveness of the Heart Container item. Only Zelda characters can use this sticker.

Swim Time
These stickers increase the amount of time that your characters can float about in the water.

Carry (Item)
A very unique type of sticker. These stickers will make you hold a specific item when entering a new room. I highly recommend the Cracker Launcher and Ray Gun.


It’s worth noting that some attacks count in multiple categories at the same time. For instance, Mario’s neutral special (fireball) inflicts both fire AND indirect special damage.

Question, when you use the carry items, do ones such as the cracker launcher still run out of ammo the same way? Is the ammo restored after you enter each door?
