This contest will allow Pokemon Spriters to show off their work by entering either the Recolor or Mutation contests. Everyone is welcome to join, from master Pokemon spriters to brand new people who are just starting to learn the ways of spriting. The instructions should be somewhat self-explanatory, but if you have any questions feel free to PM me or post on this thread.



1. No spamming. We want to keep everything as organized as possible, and if there is too much spam it will be harder for us to find the entries for each contest. If you post it would be appreciated that the post was either an entry or something that has to do with this thread. (questions/comments)
2. No flaming. Please, if you think that someone's sprite isn't that good, you may give constructive criticism, but please don't go too far with it. Leave the judging to the judges. However, if you have a compliment or some advice for someone, feel free to post it here.
3. No bribing the judges. If we find out that you have bribed any one of the judges, you will be disqualified from the contest.
4. All work must be your own. It's unfair if you claim someone else's hard work as your own, and if we find out you will be disqualified. That's why we ask you to only claim your own work.
5. Please save your images as .png because it gives us better quality. Here is an example submitted by FENRIS_WOLF:

6. First place winners of the week may not enter the same contest that they won for one week. This only applies for Recolors and Mutations, not for the week's Special contest.
7. Have fun. I think this is self-explanatory.


-Sprite can be no larger than 80x80, unless otherwise specified.
-Recolors cannot go more than 2 pixels outside of the original sprite boundaries.
-Save as "spritename.png".
-Mutations require the use of at least 2 pokemon. Please specify the pokemon used.
-Sprites from the 1st (GRBY) and 2nd (GSC) generation used only 4 colors. Yes, black and white are colors.
-Sprites from the 1st (GRBY) generation are in grayscale.


-MUST be transparent
-MUST be saved as a .png
-Can not be any larger then 48x48 (you can submit a normal entry first and then shrink it later if you win)

Here at the OPSC, there have been a lot of things going on. Some good, some bad, but in the end we all managed to pull through. I've had a great time these past few months working with you all, and this last contest will be here to commemorate all of the great things that have been done here.

END OF YEAR CONTEST:
Create a mutation out of a Grass Pokemon and a Water Pokemon, and then recolor it to look like a Fire Pokemon. Create a Data Form and a Devamp for it, and also create a PMD sprite for it. Lastly, this is optional, but to celebrate the year, you can also create an evolve form for it just for fun, and we will showcase these in the End of Year banner.

I would assume either 80x80 (Proffesional) or 100x100 (Lax; for Mutations).

@Piranha: I agree. Also, mine would have lasted longer, but I kind of abandoned it for personal reasons *coughschoolcough*.

by the way, are we allowed to enter more than one sprite? like would we be allowed to enter both the recolor and mutation contests? if not, i'll just enter the mutation.

So there will only be recolors and mutations? What about trainers? Scratches? Chaos? Revamps? Devamps?

You may enter both contests, but only one sprite per contest.
