If I have a wireless 360 controller, then plug in the Play 'n' charge thing and then plug it into my computer, will it just charge it, or will I be able to actually use it in games?

No.

Yes it does.

Not in my experience, it doesn't. It asks for a ****-ton of drivers, then when I install them, I still can't use my 360 controller.

Just get the Wireless Adapter, IMO.

No, it does not. I bought one a few months ago under the assumption that it did, only to find out that it does not.

Looked into it the other day setting up my controller
Apparently, the Play and Charge doesnt work, and you'd need a different adapter just to set it up to your PC

Luckily, I already had a wired one, so I just needed to download the drivers for it

According to Xbox.com, you connect your Wireless Controller to your computer using a Microsoft Wireless Gaming Receiver, and only with that.
