OK wow, where to start...

I'm just now rediscovering Shy Guy Tale for the first time since the original NSider Forums closed over a year ago. I am so hopelessly lost. XD The last comic I read before the closure was #155, and I've just now read #156. It was so long, and I'd been without SGT for so long, that I didn't really understand much of it. I'm going to re-read the entire series to get back into the swing of things. :P

I hope you all remember me. :P

Oh man, you've got a lot to catch up on. :P

These have been the 25 most eventful episodes to date, imo. It took 80 comics to establish the world, and it took 25 to...well, you'll see.

There are some rather comprehensive analysis things on the pages following #156 and I explain most of the events of the more recent comics in my descriptions at the bottom of the post.

Here we goo!

Yeah, the Fear of Darkness really got shafted. "I can make things dark!" Yaay? I guess it should be noted that most people who are afraid of the dark are afraid of what they can't see in the dark. The Fear of Darkness can evoke that, but not actually act upon it because he isn't as strong as the rest. Only in his "infinite power" form maybe, but he can't hold that up without the Psycho Net because his darkness can just be dispelled by the Leader (who can't remove disorder when the net is up because no disorder can be removed with the net).

The thing at the end...is not literal. I had a longer explanation written, but it didn't make sense that the Berserker would say it the other way because he has no intention of revealing too much to the enemy. When he says everyone is dead, he means that he's so strong they may as well be dead. Which is true. They are all practically dead.

Also, really, I've been following the views on this thread, and it's up at 9174. Roughly each day (especially on comic days) that number goes up by about 100. That's insane. I don't know I've I've got like ten people reading everything ten times or what, but for such a hidden-like thread...
*sniff* I'm proud.

I think I prefered the dark to the background in panels 4-5. It's nightmare fuel at its worst.

Just a little bit of death.
I think the thing that separates this from Nightmare Fuel (aside from being character driven over horror driven) is that there's very little immersion in a comic, especially a web comic. Video Games pull off frightening well because you identify with the character (as in, you're commanding him and being part of him) and don't want to be injured.
Movies have a variety of ways of being frightening that range from creative shots to just plain special effect overdose.
A picture...you look at. Some are creepy, but that's because it's usually a professional who is spending much effort into making it look creepy. I'm just a dude.

Not like it matters what I think though, public opinion sort of overrules me here.

All right, then. I will get on that. :P

I'm still really glad that SGT was able to survive the death of the forums. :D

Well, I'm not surprised that the Fear of Darkness got killed so soon. After all, everyone here should have heard the saying, "Don't fear the darkness, fear what it hides." After all, there are all kinds of nasty things that hide in the dark.

Ah, man, Fear of Darkness was awesome! Actually, nearly all the Fears are awesome. I'm gonna be bummed when they all die, as it's inevitable. As inevitable as Torture Guy's death D:

I also predicted that the Fear of Darkness had a crappy power in the Banzguy comic. xD

I'm actually not a big fan of the Fear of Fear. Yeah, he has the power of paranoia, which is pretty hardcore, but as a person...he's sort of just around. Everyone kind of has a thing except for him.

Darkness: The fun loving one.
Creatures: The comedic fear.
Status: Awesome chair.
Deception/Betrayal: The Chessmasters
Confinement: Weird dialogue.
Death: Fun dialogue.
Fear: He's Shi Guy...? Not as exciting.

We've actually been over the whole dying Fears thing here, but for suspense's sake I won't bring it up again.

Haha, you guys thought fears could be killed.

I actually spent a lot of time on the numerous ways the Fear of Darkness has been killed now and I think it turned out very nicely. (as can be expected given my new sig add on)

Also...it's sort of difficult to tell Halo Guy's bubble from the Berserker's, but I can see the difference pretty clearly, so I figure all you guys need to do is look. It's nice seeing the two of them right next to each other too. Remember way back when, when Halo Guy was considered large...yeah. Another thing...Halo Guy is a really messy fighter it seems. Oh God bleeding demon chunks!! Oh, and Mini Guy dying off screen. :(

That Mini Guy sprite is special made by the same process I make all of my "special" sprites (like the Fear of Darkness goop thing). I didn't do this for the other guest stars (Sword Guy had it a little bit.), but I figured Mini Guy got the short end of the stick (lololpun) when everyone was upgraded to tier2, so I gave him a little bit extra for his death.
I'm not very nice to my guest stars, am I?

Trying to commentate on this one...a lot of things happened!
9236 views now...I'm still keeping track.

Maybe I just need to stop playing Resident Evil in the dark. Makes me really jumpy and easily scared.
