First Party Ranks
Note: These are the ranks you start out with when you join. You have the option of switching over to the Third Party ranking system as well. For more details on that, see below.

Goomba
One of Bowser's minions, these little mushroom men are one of Mario's most common enemies. Jump on their heads for massive damage.

• You are automatically a Goomba when you join. Thus, you need none of the stats to achieve this rank.

Cappy
The little enemies from Kirby games that look like mushrooms. You must remove the mushroom before you can do any damage to it.

Piranha Plant
The plants that come out of the pipes in many of the Mario games to bite Mario. Advanced ones even shoot fire.

A common bad guy from the Zelda series. They are land-dwelling spiders that try to jump at Link.

One of the most common enemies of Mario. It is a little turtle that walks around the levels. Jump on it to make it go in its shell, just remember that it won't stay in there forever! These guys appear in multiple colors.

3rd Party Ranks
Note: The Third-Party rank item can be bought for 100 Rupees in the Forum Profile Effects section of the Market, and switching back to First-Party ranks will cost you 50 Rupees.

When you switch to the Third-Party rank system, your current post count isn't lost, nor are any powers you've earned thus far. You'll start with Tetromino, and then each post you make will raise your rank until you reach the rank equal to your current post count.

*Tetromino
Blocks made up of 4 cubes and fall increasingly faster from the top of the screen. Matching a full row gets rid of that row and moves the tetronimos one level down.

• You are automatically a Tetromino when you switch. Thus, you need none of the stats to achieve this rank.

*Frogger
This little frog has the strangest idea to cross in front of cars, snakes, and lawn mowers and even hops across gators to get to the other side of the level.

Cappy/* Frogger - When you make two posts in your account, you'll be able to use the Private Message (PM) system, and upload avatars (icons) that appear in every post you make. To access your PM system, you can click on 'My Controls' in the upper-left corner of the screen, or by clicking the '# New Messages' at the top of the screen.
Piranha Plant/* Nightmaren - When you reach the rank of Piranha Plant or Nightmaren, you can now take quizzes, join the Pokémon Battle System, use the Market, and use search. The Pokemon Battle System (PBS) is currently down, and is unknown as to when it'll be back online (the only person who can do much about it is currently inactive). The Market, however, is up and running, and you can purchase a plethora of trinkets and items, from screenname effects, to name changes, to switching from the First Party ranks to the Third Party ranks. You'll need to have some Rupees, however, which can be earned by posting, or by winning an official contest.

Octorok/* Zombie - Achieving the rank of Octorok or Zombie grants you the power to edit your posts and thread titles. To do so, click on the 'Edit' tab at the bottom of your post. You can either perform a quick edit, where you can edit your post without being taken to a new page, or you can do a full edit, where you can add color and images to your message (please note that you'll need to do a full edit in order to edit your thread title).

Noki/* Reploid - When you become a Noki or a Reploid, you can now CC (Carbon-Copy) a PM to 30 members. When you're making a new PM, enter the screennames of the other users you wish to send the PM to in the 'Carbon-Copy' field, above the PM title. You can choose to hide the list of people that receive the same PM from the person you send it to as well. Be advised that you must enter a user's screenname exactly as it appears to successfully send the PM. If you don't, the entire message won't be sent, and you'll receive an error telling you which screenname doesn't exist.

Pianta/* Hedgehog - When you obtain the rank of Pianta or Hedgehog, you'll be able to delete any of your posts that you've made. To do so, click the 'Delete' button next to the 'Edit' button. Note that you're able to delete posts that have been quoted by other users in another post, but you're unable to delete any threads you make. Your postcount will also decrease with each post of yours that you delete.

NOTE: You can receive the ability to delete your posts by gaining access to the Serious Discussion board.

Pokémon Trainer/* Brave Knight - Reaching the rank of Pokemon Trainer or Brave Knight will allow you to freely change your member title, the text that appears below your icon and above your rank, without purchasing it from the Market. To do so, go to your profile and click 'Edit Member'.

Plumber/* Emerald Guardian - Achieving the high rank of Plumber or Emerald Guardian will grant you the ability to delete any of your threads you've made. Any thread of yours that's deleted will lower your postcount, as well as anyone else's postcount that posted in it. Also, any member with the rank of Plumber or Emerald Guardian will grant you an additional 500 PM spaces, for a total of 1500 spaces in your PM Box.

Outstanding Community Member Ranks

Sage: Members who receive one of six ranks of Sage have been recognized for providing outstanding contributions to the community, in addition to fulfilling one of the six separate requirements explained below. All Sages can post in a special Sages-Only board, along with being granted access to other hidden boards. Sages also have the ability to lock/unlock their own topics, as well as having a slightly larger PM box. Anyone that earns any of the six Sage ranks can also lose it before the month ends if they break the rules severely enough, and may need to wait an additional month before being eligible to receive the rank again. Only one Sage rank will be permanent - the others will last for only a month. Members cannot win the rank twice in a row - they must lose the rank and may gain it again one month after losing it. If they get it in September and aren't selected to have the rank permanently, they'll be eligible to receive the rank again in the round for the month of November. Please note that obtaining one of the six Sage ranks below is not a requirement to become a moderator.

• Sage of Light - You must be an active, positive member of the community, and be picked by the Administrators.

• Sage of Forest - You must be an active, positive member of the community, and be picked by the Knights of Hyrule & Local Knights.

• Sage of Fire - You must be an active, positive member of the community, and be picked by the entire forum staff.

• Sage of Water - You must be an active, positive member of the community, and be picked by the other existing Sages.

• Sage of Shadow - You must be an active, positive member of the community, and be chosen based on a selected review or post.

• Sage of Spirit - You must be an active, positive member of the community. The method for being chosen for this rank changes every period.

• Sage of Time - You must attain one of the six Sage ranks above and be selected by the other Sages. Once chosen, you keep the rank permanently unless the administration deems it necessary to remove it from you.

NSider2 Forum Staff Ranks

• Tech Admin - Users with this rank have the most power, and can change virtually any aspect of NSider2 if they see fit. However, their focus is on technical issues with the forum, such as the advertisements, rather than administrating it. Currently, three people have this rank, and unfortunately, the means of acquiring it are unknown.

• Administrator - Administrators are the people in charge of NSider2. They pick new staff members, create and retire boards, hand out and remove special ranks, and perform several other administrative tasks.

• Market Admin - Market Admins are in charge of the Market and all aspects related to it. In addition, they have full moderation abilities, and will use them if necessary.

• Moderator - Moderator is a combined rank of sorts between Knight and Admin, though their admin abilities are limited.

• Knights of Hyrule - To achieve the rank of Knights of Hyrule, you must be hand-picked by an administrator. KoH have all of the powers that Local Knights do, but their powers aren't limited to one specific board. They can lock, delete, edit, move posts/threads, 'float' threads, freely change a user's sig, and can hand out warnings as a method of banning users.

• Local Knight - To become a Local Knight, you must be hand-picked by an administrator. Local Knights can lock threads started by other people, edit posts by other people, and float threads. Those abilities, however, are assigned to a particular section of NSider2. Therefore, their powers will only work on the board(s) they are assigned to. Based on the user/board they're assigned to will also determine whether they have the ability to also use the warn system, as Knights and Admins are capable of doing.

• Contest Manager - In charge of creating contests and events across the forum, and assisted by the Contest Assistants. The holder of the rank also has moderating powers, but will likely limit their use to contest-related tasks.

• Contest Assistant - They are responsible for providing assistance not only to the planning and development of future contests, but the management of existing ones. They can lose the rank if the staff feels they don't deserve it, or if they step down on their own free will (new users will be selected via instructions given when a related announcement is posted). Providing Mods/Admins with a list of those that need special ranks for winning any contest is a definite bonus, but not required.

• NSiderNews Writer - A user who writes articles for NSider News.

• NS2 Graphic Artist - A user who designs graphics mainly for the Market.

Special Ranks

• Banned - Given to those who have broken a rule or two to the point where an account suspension is put into effect. The rank goes away when the suspension is lifted.

• Shadow Creature - A joke rank, designed to be NS2's own version of NSider's infamous Lowlier Than Goomba rank. It's abilities aren't exactly known, but the one thing we do know is that it's extremely restricted. This rank may also be used as a punishment rank every once in a while.

• Validating - Those that have not confirmed their email address yet.

Please Note: All special ranks except for Advertiser and Advertiser DJ grant you access to a hidden board.

• Advertiser - Originally a special board mechanic that posts advertisements directly after the first post of each page in a thread, but now the site mascot. The advertiser is not a real person, and no board member can have this rank. Advertiser is used for a variety of things, but most famously, he is used for Camp Star.

• Advertiser DJ - The rank that our beloved Advertiser DJ holds.

• Arena Champ - Given to the highest-scoring user in the weely Arena Challenge thread floated on Power On.

• Camp Stars - Given to the members of the winning cabin of Camp Star.

• Camp Superstar - Given to ffadicted for showing outstanding spirit and leadership during Camp Star. Interestingly enough, FF created the rank image and icon himself.

• Card Collector - Obtained by finding an extremely rare card in any trading card set via the Market. Check the Weekly NSider2 Market Update thread on the Bulletin Board for announcements regarding another Card Collector card being available. Take note that only four people can have this rank at any given time.

• Invincible - Given out to the top winner of official contests (as determined by the staff). The duration of the rank is based on the length of each contest.

• King of Hearts - To receive this rank, you must collect 4 Heart Pieces that can only be found in Gasha Nuts. Once you've collected 4, send a PM to Cire to receive this rank. The best places to find Heart Pieces are in Gasha Nuts or in another member's inventory. Beware, you may have to pay a hefty price for one if you're buying it from another member.

• NS2 President - This rank is awarded to the 'elected' individual via the NS2 Elections event. The powers are similar as that of a Plumber, in addition to a slightly larger Inbox.

• NS2 Vice President - The winner's running mate in the NS2 Elections event, the rank's powers are similar to President, but not quite the same.

• NSider Picasso - To receive this rank, you must win the monthly fan art contest in the Fan Art board. You keep the rank for one month, until the next contest is over.

• Pokemon Master - Awarded from the Pokemon Masters Colosseum. There are 3 gym divisions each with 9 badges to earn. Once you have earned all 9 you become a Master and are awarded the rank. Please check the Community Focus board for more information.

• POTW - Awarded to those who win the Post of the Week contest.

• Star Detective - Given to a handful of users through participation in 2008's Camp Star.

• Tabuu - Awarded to Zen for winning the one-year anniversary Brawl tournament.

• *TimeTraveler - This rank is bestowed upon anyone that buys and uses the *The Harp of Ages from the Market place. Once used the user will be taken back in time to the first 5 days of NSider2. What happens after that, you'll have to find out for yourself. This is part of the Treasure hunters #3 game.

• Treasure Hunter - Awarded to the first user to solve all of the riddles presented in the Treasure Hunt game.

Retired Ranks * Note that this excludes all retired ranks from the original NSider. Those ranks, however, are securely saved.

• <3 Raymond - Given to the user Skirtsteak for changing his name to "Raymonds_Boyfriend"

• 999,999th - Given to the member FoxFan12 for being NSiders most '999,999th visitor'.

• Apprentice Knight - This is a reincarnation of the previous Apprentice Knight program used with the previous Nonster mod application process, and, like before, handed out to the finalists as determined by the administration. Only one person has this rank at a time, and only for three days. During those three days, they maintain the same powers Knights of Hyrule do (except for being able to post/view the staff board), and are expected to be treated the same as any other staff member. Once their three days are gone, the rank is given to the next person (the order can be viewed in the 'Nonster Finalists' announcement). Once one person's trial period ends, the staff will deliberate shortly after and determine whether they're brought onto the staff. The trial periods are predicted to be done around the 25th of December. The AK program has, once again, concluded, and the AK rank is, once again, retired...for now...

• Autumn Champion - This rank can be achieved by winning one of the contests within the "Autumn Bash" hosted by Mar every Autumn. There are various contests, which means lots of winners. The rank is handed out to users on October 31st, and the rank lasts until November 25th.

• Bandwidth Exceeded - Given to the users SHRIMPKID and KK_Jammer as a joke for their part in a thread about Kodiack's broken rank icon.

• Banned - The original banned rank, retired for unknown reasons (to tell the difference between them, the current version name isn't bolded)

• Bearer of Courage - This rank was awarded to the user who solved all eight Triforce Charts and collected all eight Triforce shards. Just as in Wind Waker, a user here would buy one chart for 398 Rupees in the market. The chart would have a riddle on it. The first two lines revealed the board and the second two lines revealed the thread where a treasure chest was located which contained one of eight shards. The first to solve all eight got the rank and that user was "mattmagician".

• Block Party - Given to those who asked for the rank during the "Block Party Weekend" of Nsider2's one-year anniversary.

• Brawl Psychic - A one-day rank awarded to whomever guessed the Brawl update for the next day. This rank was originally planned on being retired at Brawl's release date, but has instead been retired sooner.

• Camp Counselor - A Cabin Counselor for NSider2's Camp Star.

• Camp Star Superstars - This rank was awarded to the cabin who got first place in NSider2's Camp Star in 2007. This was awarded to all members in that cabin (in other words, Cabin 1), and lasted for exactly one month. It's basically the "prize" for earning the most points during Camp Star. The rank is, unfortunately, retired.

• Coffee Nut - Given to the user Alaska when Raymond posted in Alaska's "What should I change my name to?" and suggested that they change their name to "Raymonds_Coffee_Getter" and agreed that he would only change his name to that if he got a special rank from Raymond. (NOTE: Just because it happened in this one occasion, you shouldn't go around asking for special ranks.)

• Coming soon... - A temporary rank that has now been retired.

• Dark Advertiser - An evil version of Advertiser, set on destroying Camp Star. Unlike Advertiser, he can post messages, not just advertisements.

• Gold Medalist - Given out to the top winner of official contests (as determined by the staff). The duration of the rank is based on the length of each contest. The rank has been replaced by the Invincible rank.

• Guild Master - The head of a guild in the Pokemon Battle System. The rank also grants moderation abilities to their guild's board.

• Hidden Star - Given to the user Sparn for helping Raymond find the hidden stars in Super Mario Galaxy.

• mxI was wrong - Given to the user Juni for providing false info to Raymond, forcing him to start Assassin's Creed all over again.

• Introduction Host - Has powers similar to a Local Knight, but is more in charge of welcoming new users and answering their questions rather than moderating. It appears to have been a short-lived rank, and is thus retired...for the time being.

• Member Relations - Still a member of staff but focus is on communications between users and staff. Runs the official debate committee, problem solving, works with Raymond on staff and works on the suggestion threads.

• Morph Ball - To get this rank, you must buy the Morph Ball in the Market. If you're lucky, you'll get it.

• MSider Official - Not much is known about this rank. It was created around NSider2's early days as a forum, and was retired later on with a few other special ranks.

• OMG I impressed an Admin - Given to those who impress administrators, but whether it was given for good or bad reasons remains to be answered.

• Poll Master - A special user who makes polls for the administration to help them decide on new features, ranks, boards etc. It was later retired.

• Power On Photographer - Given to users by Brad. How exactly you would go about getting this rank is a mystery, but it has something to do with making art from screen shots of Power On. Anyone who has the rank should not expect to have it for long. There was a thread on Power On where some users suggested that there should be a person to archive screens of hilarious threads, hence the origin of the rank.

• Pseudo-Knight of Hyrule - Given to users for being the 100th poster in certain threads by EJRaven. While it's unclear whether they actually earned moderation powers, the rank has fortunately been retired.

• Pwned by Advertiser - A temporary rank for those who made fun of the Advertiser. This rank has now been retired.

• Royalty's Apprentice - To obtain this rank, you must be chosen to compete in "The Apprentice" contest. This contest consists of a set amount of tasks. After each task, one of the apprentices gets fired. The last one standing gets a fabulous mystery prize.

• Sage - You must be an active, positive member for a minimum of 3 months, and then be picked by the staff. Sages can post on the Sage board. To be chosen as a Sage, there's no particular method of earning it. Providing excellent, innovative topics, and assisting users where needed might point you in the right direction, however. Becoming a Sage is NOT a requirement to being picked as a moderator. This previous version of the rank is retired.

• Santa NSider - Given to Shinyertu59 for being a generous member, and buying others virtual console games as an early holiday surprise. The thought is well-appreciated, but it's unknown whether the rank will return for the holidays again.

• Shooting Star - This was awarded to a single user, Marioman156. He got the award for doing his best to keep his entire cabin together, displaying true leadership, courage, and camp spirit. He showed us all that no matter how far you may be, never give up towards your main goal. However, after some discussion, this rank was also awarded to "Armageddon" for being an exemplary camper. This rank also lasted for one month, and is retired.

• Signature Artist - Signature Artists are in charge of assisting the Signature Master with the Level-up-my-signature forum feature.

• Signature Master - Those who have this rank manage and maintain the Level-Up-My-Signature forum feature.

• Special Knight - A rank that most KoHs received around the time of Camp Star. It has all of the same powers as a KoH and the same rank icon. What it is for is relatively unknown to the general population, but it is said to only last a week.

• The Ring King - Awarded to those who collect all 64 rings that come from Gasha Nuts in the Market Place.

• Trick or Treater - Awarded to the first thee people who posted in the"Who Wants It?" thread, in an attempt to liven Halloween spirit.

• Trivia Assassin - In order to get this rank, you must win "Friday Trivia" held in NSider2's IRC Chat on Friday (10pm EST). Winners of this rank got a fair sum of Rupees and an additional reward that's currently unknown. Although both the IRC channel and Friday Trivia have made a return, winners will now receive the Gold Medalist rank instead.

• Trivia Master - Given to those who come up with the weekly Market Quizzes.

• Wannabe Ninja - A rank that had been made exclusively for Drakelance, and later retired.

The Arena Champ rank, I won't add that for a specific reason I cannot say.

Two minor formatting errors:
-There should be a space between the Validating and Shadow Creatures rank, so that the images don't touch.
-There should probably be a space between the disclaimers and the things to do list, so they appear as two completely different components of the thread.

I'm the kind of guy that has to always be different. But I've lived with the general ranks so far, so I'll just keep on living with them. And I always have those memories of those two ranks, so it's all good.
