Hello Nsiders,

Recently I've been trying to run a contest for winning wii points, but I haven't had any luck on smaller forums so I have asked to run my contest here. Last winter I brought to you guys Camp Star which was full of some great activities and many people were wondering if Camp Star would come back. Well I'm no longer an Admin here on Nsider and that was a LOT for one staff member to run so I know I will never do that again, lol.

Anyways I thought I would do something else special for the users of Nsider. So over the course of 6 weeks I'll be running this contest to win 2000 Wii Points. There maybe other prizes involved, I'll have to discuss that with the staff but the grand prize will be just one winner for 2000 Wii points.

Here is what's involved:

As stated there will be 6 weeks so this will last the rest of summer till everyone goes back to school. The staff are going to help judge as well so it's not just one person working on this. Each week will have a set theme based on a franchise that is found on the Nintendo systems.

What to do for each week:

1) Sig contest based on the franchise - max size 500x150
2) Design a card for the Market based on the franchise - max size 230x290 (Cards won't be put into the market it's just for fun)
3) Avatar contest for each week max size 150x150

Note:

You don't have to do all 3, these are just fun activities to get you more involved in the theme. The more you do the more you get noticed. Also you don't have to participate every week, but again the more you do the more you get noticed.

Optional:
To show more spirit and really get involved you might think about changing your avatar and sig or even posting with a character of your choices personality. Try advertising the contest and getting others involved. Be creative but be zealous because the object is to make yourself stand out and be excited!

Each contest will just be held in this thread and there is no limit to how many you enter. A winner will be selected for each contest but that doesn't mean whoever wins the contests will win the Wii points card. The one chosen to win the card will be the person that shows the most spirit, who has a good attitude, and who participates the most whether you win or loose. Effort is needed so slapping something together just to enter isn't going to show good spirit.

Also you don't have to do the contests alone either. People can work together, but it will still only be one person that gets the card in the end. Also weekends will be used to judge the contests.


Themes:

Week 1: August 4th - 8th - Mario
Week 2: August 11th - 15th - Zelda
Week 3: August 18th - 22nd - Metroid
Week 4: August 25th - 29th - Fire Emblem / Final Fantasy
Week 5: September 1st - 5th - Pokemon
Week 6: September 8th - 12th - Kingdom Hearts / Sonic

Weeks that have two themes means you can choose to do either one or do both. I just wanted to get as many games covered as we could in 6 weeks.

Since Eric allowed this contest to be made and floated, I'll do the honors. One thing, though:

You mean 500x150. Images are measured width x height, not height x width.

Oh and you guys can start early if you like. I just wanted to have it set Monday - Friday as a fix for the contest, but this just means you have a little extra time for the first weeks theme. ^_^

I can't exactly afford to change my name and such. I only have 41 rupees.

Rhyme's thread over powered Heather's and knocked the sticky out of it.

Hence the changing of the sig and Avatar is what works just as well. And taking on the characters personality in your posts. ^_^

I'm gonna be sad saying goodbye to my avatar and sig, and name(When I get the rupees), but I'll make sure I keep them somewhere.

Wait, would Jumpman count in the Mario theme, or Donkey Kong?

If this contest goes well I'll probably do another one and that would be in that round.

i have a qestion about the cards contest. do they have to be like they are in the market, or can they be custom created???

They can be custom created, but no larger then a regular sized trading card.

the guy you play as in the Donkey Kong arcade game.

This is amusing but I don't want to lose my Ryu avatar and sig so I'm voting for a Breath of Fire theme.

awww thats what i meant by custom created. as in larger. the market cards aren't really cards though there pictures.

Jumpman is Mario.

No that would not count then. Characters that show up in a Mario game such as Mario Kart is fine so DK and Diddy are examples.

Well if you did only one theme you wouldn't have a chance to win anyways

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. So yes Jumpman would be fine.

As for the others, they are anonymous so I don't know.

Yeah I'm keeping them anonymous too because I don't want anyone to judge who it is judging, but as for me I hold nothing against anyone. Even those that hate me I would still be very fair with. And trust me, many people here hate me. XD

That's a big prize, but it seems like you want to get rid of it.

Do you have to make the signatures/avatars yourself? Because I lack the proper equipment on my computer.
